How The Two Could Bring Humanity Together
In the age of A.I., the questions will be:
What does it mean to be human? What makes humans distinct from these machines that can rationalize thought, just like humans can?
This question will force us to come face to face with our humanity- to see through the distractions of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and borders.
Those issues will still be present but there will be a newfound level of unity that yes, resolution can still be worked through but under a banner of unity instead of divisiveness.
Almost all of us have sat and pondered what an alien invasion would be like- whether it was a movie we watched or a book we read.
Some sort of existential threat that would pose a danger to humanity. That danger being- a lack of meaning.
Well, A.I. can very well be that preverbal alien race.
Nothing may not unite humanity quite like A.I.
And it may come at a time when it’s desperately needed.
